CUSTOM FIXED BARBELLS

Fully machined here in the UK, assuring you of exceptional quality, our custom steel barbells are great for movements such as dumbbell curls and skull crushers.

WHAT IS THE SPECIFICATION?

Each and every barbell is CNC machined from hardened steel with the barbell handle size being 35mm in diameter which is knurled to offer perfect grip without being uncomfortable and finished with a black zinc plating.

All barbells are finished with nickel plating.  Nickel plating is a superior finish that gives the barbell its beautiful shine and chrome appearance whilst protecting it against both corrosion and wear.

WHY DO YOU USE HARDENED STEEL?

Barbells will typically have to undertake a certain amount of abuse in a commercial gym environment and hardened steel is perfect over a material such as stainless as it is more hard wearing and therefore much more forgiving when being thrown around and dropped, something that is commonplace in a gym.

The hardened steel, over a material such as iron, is far more superior.  Iron is a very brittle material when cold, so when forces are applied to an iron dumbbell, cracks can occur.  The finish on iron barbells would also not be good enough for an electroplated coating.

WHY DON'T WE ZINC PLATE OUR BARBELLS?

Look closely at any custom barbell and you will notice two distinct finishes. A slightly dull zinc plating or a bright hard nickel finish.

So what's the difference between the two barbell finishes?

Traditionally zinc plating has been used as a functional protective coating designed to 'sacrifice' itself in order to protect the metal beneath.  The issue is that over time the zinc will dull, fade and eventually disappear, leaving your dumbbells prone to rusting and corrosion.

Although nickel is a far more expensive finishing process, it's a lot harder.  It acts as a permanent resistant barrier to corrosion and is also a lot brighter with a mirror finish appearance adding to its aesthetic appeal.

Always find out the surface finish of your barbell prior to purchasing, a good protective finish is key to keeping your set looking good for years to come.

THE IMPORTANCE OF QUALITY AND CRAFTSMANSHIP

You've heard the saying "Buy cheap, buy twice"

In the case of barbells this saying has never been more true.  The quality of the steel is paramount to the hardness of the barbell.

Low cost Chinese or lower grades of steel not only provide a poor surface finish when being machined but are soft and have a greater risk of dents and marks when being used in a commercial gym environment.

Look closely at your barbell finish. It will tell you a lot about the quality that lies beneath

CAN I BRAND THE BARBELLS WITH A LOGO TO MATCH MY DUMBBELLS?

Yes! No matter how colourful or complicated your logo, each barbell can be finished with customised end plates of either two, three or four layers at no extra cost.

Once you’ve supplied your logo artwork we can also supply you with a visual representation showing you what you can expect with your new fixed barbells

Each end plate is made from laser cut steel which is then powder coated to match your logos colours.

WHAT MAKES THE BARBELLS A WORTHWHILE INVESTMENT?

The pre-determined weights are great for convenience and the shorter length when compared to a standard Olympic barbell makes them easier to handle and utilise, rather than relying on small straight bars which are loaded to a specific weight.

The superior knurling on these bars allows for the perfect grip without being too abrasive.

Available to purchase in a set of 10kg to 45kg in 5kg increments, the range is large enough to suit all athletes.

We provide two variations of storage racks, either fixed or rotating, to keep your barbells stored away safely.  Either variation of barbell rack is manufactured to include a plastic insert which ensures your barbells are protected from scratches and retain their polished appearance.

Barbells are a gym staple that can be used for a multitude of exercises such as preacher curl, wrist curl and tricep extensions making them incredibly versatile and a must for any commercial gym.
